At my appointment last Thursday, Dr. Petrovski told me I was still only 1 cm dilated, 25% effaced, and at station -3.  In non-prego terms, that means not much closer to going into labor!!  A -4 in terms of “stations” means the baby is still floating freely in the uterus and has not descended into the pelvis.  The baby “crowns” at +4, so, as you can see, we have a ways to go…..

She seems to think this baby will need an exit date.  She is not too keen on waiting too many days past my due date.  She asked if I had a problem inducing before my due date, and my response was, “I was coming in here today to ask you what the ‘going rate’ was to induce NOW!”  She laughed and said, “Name my price, huh?”  She then informed me she would be on vacation all this week…. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!  But, I didn’t freak out on her.  She really seems to think this baby won’t come until we force her to…  So, I told her I’m all for inducing labor early!!

The plan:  I have an appt Thursday with one of the other doctors, then again on Tuesday, Oct. 20th with my doctor.  Dr. Petrovski is hoping I can make it till the 20th, then have her check me, then schedule the delivery later that week…  I’m thinking she’ll check me on the 20th and say, “Let’s have a baby tomorrow!  Or Thursday or Friday…”  Wow… just like that!!  I mean, I’ve had 9 months to prepare, but it still will feel so surreal to actually go into labor!

Of course all I can think about now is my water breaking at the most inopportune times…. movie theater, restaurant, church, Wal-mart, work, etc.  Chad even made us sit by the Holy Water fountain yesterday just in case….. Made me laugh….

So, any preferences on Baby Michel’s birthdate??  10/21/09 sounds like a good date, right?  Easy to remember for everyone??  That does out her on the cusp of being a Libra or Scorpio……  Guess that means she’ll have tendencies of both……
