I am officially 7 months (28 weeks and 2 days) pregnant!

Time seems to be flying by!  I don’t feel nearly ready yet… I keep telling the baby to stay in there, cause I’m not ready yet!!  Chad is adding some final details to the nursery – just wall decor, lamp, shelving, etc.  I’ll be sure to post more pics as soon as it is complete.  I am excited for my first baby shower on August 15th!  I am so thankful my sisters have put this together for me.  They are great.

Chad and I have completed the Infant CPR/Babycare class at the hospital, and are now know what to do if the baby chokes or stops breathing.  We (or Chad) also learned how to swaddle, burp, bathe  and change the baby!  Ms. Sheila – we also had a lady give a presentation on cloth diapers!!  I can honestly say that today’s cloth diapers look so cute and super-easy to use!  I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea… 

Tomorrow we start a 4-week Prepared Childbirth Class. This course is designed to help mom and her support person to make informed choices, and feel prepared for the upcoming delivery.

Course topics include:
- Anatomy of the pregnant women/common discomforts
- Terminology
- Role of the support person
- Medications and epidural anesthesia
- Relaxation/breathing techniques
- Teaching videos
- Birth options
- Cesarean birth
- Hospital Tour
- Postpartum care (after delivery)

As far as the latest dr. appts. go…..  I took my glucose screening test on Friday, and those results should be in this week.  If everything is normal, that’s great.  If not, I have to do a re-test which takes like 3 hours!!  My next scheduled appt. is Aug. 13th at 2:15 with another doctor in the practice.  My dr. likes for her patients to at least meet the other 3 obgyns in the practice in case for some reason they would have to deliver my baby instead of her.
