July 13, 2009 at 3:05 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentI had another obgyn appt on Friday. Dr. Petrovski was happy to see that I finally have a belly now! She listened to the baby’s heartbeat and measured my belly and said everything was just perfect. My next appt is July 31st where I will have a glucose screening test. I have to drink an orange soda, then they’ll test my blood to see how my body reacts to sugar. This is to be sure I am not developing gestational diabetes.
My doctor said after July 31st she’ll see me every 2 weeks again, and then every week as we get closer to Oct. 24th.
I signed Chad and I up for several classes at the hospital where we will deliver. The classes are free since we’ll be delivering there. The first one is an Infant CPR/Babycare class that meets twice. The second is a Prepared Childbirth class that meets once a week for 4 weeks. We also will attend a Car Seat Safety class one Saturday to make sure we know how to install the car seat in both of our vehicles. Did you know 9 out of 10 people install their car seats incorrectly? I mean, you think, how hard can it be, right? But, you’ll think you’ve installed it correctly, and sure enough, you’re putting your child at risk!!! I will also attend several breastfeeding classes – I told Chad he was off the hook for those.
Alot going on in the baby world these days! Chad finished the nursery! He finished our “secret passageway door” a few weeks ago. The door that will allow us to get to the baby’s room via our closet instead of walking around the entire house. Everyone that sees it comments on how it looks like the builder put it there since it looks EXACTLY like the other doors in the house. He did a great job! He installed a chair rail, caulked it, and painted it. Painted the wall underneath the chair rail a purpleish color, and installed a white ceiling fan! We purchased the crib and dresser/changing table combo yesterday. We’re excited to put all of that in the room in few weeks. Here is a picture! The crib converts to a toddler bed, day bed, and full size bed.

I am looking forward to my baby shower in Louisiana on August 15th! The shower will be in Mandeville at Becky’s house at 1:00pm. I think we ended up inviting almost 40 people!! Should be loads of fun!!
We are still narrowing down names… It may not be until we see our baby girl before either of us feels 100% sure on any name! But that will be ok since Lucky is learning where “the baby’s room” is and “the baby’s toys” and “the baby’s clothes!” I am going to hire a trainer to come over in a few weeks to give both he and I a refresher course!!
Hope all of you are well. We will see you soon!

Liz – Love the furniture! You guys did a great job! How wonderful that Chad has completed all of his “baby projects”. You look so cute pregnant and I just can’t wait to meet this new little princess. Of course, she’ll be a princess like me!
